Passage 1.
You have probably heard the expression “It’s raining cats and dogs outside.” That means that it is raining very hard - not that real cats and dogs are falling from the sky. However, one day in June, 1882, it really did rain frogs over Dubuque, Iowa. The frogs began falling along with hailstones during a terrible storm.
During the storm in Dubuque, the strong winds lifted small frogs from nearby ponds into the air along with raindrops. When some of these frogs became covered with ice, both hailstones and “frog-stones” fell onto ground. Imagine what the people thought when frogs bounced off their umbrellas.

The Titanic had enjoined only two days of raising glory on its maiden voyage in 1912 before plunging into the water near the coast of Newfoundland.
